India's Defence Ministry has decided to replace Microsoft Operating System (OS) in all its computers that can connect to the Internet with Maya, an Ubuntu-based OS built locally. The new OS is currently being rolled out only in the Defence Ministry computers, and not the three Services.
The Defence Ministry has announced a major overhaul of its cybersecurity system: it will replace Windows in all its internet-connected computers with a new OS called Maya. This is a response to the growing threat of malware and ransomware attacks, which have become more frequent and severe in recent times.
But what is Maya OS and how does it differ from Windows? How will it benefit the military and who are the brains behind it? Here are some answers to these questions.
Ubuntu is one of the most widely used Linux distributions in the world and it is known for its high level of security.
Unlike Windows, which has a large number of malware and vulnerabilities due to running more services and its backward compatibility, Ubuntu has very few malware and exploits.
Ubuntu is also distributed as free and open-source software, which means that anyone can inspect, modify, and improve its code.
This allows Ubuntu to benefit from the collective efforts of thousands of developers and users who contribute to its development and security. Furthermore, Ubuntu has a built-in firewall, a strict user permission system, and regular security updates that help protect it from potential threats.
Now We're expecting some similar decisions from the Turkish government and the authorities who talk a lot about localism and nationalist ideas to do the same with the native Turkish Linux Distro 'Pardus' as soon as possible.
And by the way, we're expecting some more alternates for Google's Android which is also dominating the whole industry through a cartelist way inequality, we don't like monopoly which is even worse than capitalism and we demand justice, we would like to see more Linux based mobile phones for sale around running a variety of Linux mobile Os types.
I love non-commercial wild underground Rock 'N roll ı love alternates, alternative directors, films, music, and operating systems, and ı dream of a non-commercial totally free alternate world.
I don't like ordinary things because ı am not an ordinary person. ı always look and search for alternates, alternative ideas, different things, different opinions, approaches, etc.
I won't buy what they want me to buy and ı won't pay attention to their suggestions and proposal, if the band Kiss is Microsoft Windows for instance then Gaskin (another Brit band) is Linux Ubuntu, that's my perspective. You don't get it?
Well, you know, that's probably the idea is opposed to your benefits, that's the kinda reason, wanna make more profit?
I'm not ordinary enough to listen to Miley Cyrus either.
Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!
Freedom! Free! Free! Free! Yeah Free.
The whole mainstream you guys don't rock man, underground metal rocks, coz we dwell in the dark and live in the shadows.
What do we listen to?
Just a few listens to N.W.O.B.H.M: usually, that's a fact, yeah it's and ı'm proud of it.
Do you know why ı love the country of Cuba, coz it's an alternate country too, rare for the least, isn't it?
