The Gathering is a Dutch band and their upcoming album is named as "Beautiful Distortion" which is pretty awesome because in my opinion this title exactly explains my point of view in terms of musical philosophy.
However if they mean some other things by their specific title for instance "metal music is distorting the sound waves and this is also a sort of manipulation in sence of satanic reversed philosophy anyway so what the hell are you talking about" or something that means ı misunderstood them, ı've missed the point and in this case ı'm so sorry, lol.
"Metallica is the best band of the world."
Well ı'm sorry dude but ı think this is such a childish assesment because ı think there's no such a think as "the best band of the world" or "the worst band of the world" actually.
Because every lead guitarist has their own specific sound and guitar tones, which is distingushible so easy by a good ear (Alex Scolnick's tones for instance or Zakk's, ı can recognize right away) and also every single band has their own specific sound structure and besides they don't like to go out of their original sound scheme so oftenly.
In short music is not something meant to be to be raced each other, of course sometimes they might be compared each other for instance ı believe Megadeth is a way more complex and pro band compared to Metallica if you ask me but as ı mentioned earlier every single band has their own beauty,frequency and vibrations.
Sometimes you may find a profund emotion or deep feelings inside the worst nightmare amateur metal band's music and sometimes a highly professional 4 x 4 metal band may sound meaningless and cold to you.
Music is a matter of frequency and vibrations just as colors.
I don't believe in mainstream media's and tv channel's music competitons or song contests such as Eurovision, ı don't even watch 'em.
I like to stay out of the system as much as ı can.
When we produced our demo album in 1992 it was not an easy task for me, there were not many good musicians around me ı couldn't have found a good singer for the vocals part so ı had to do it myself through my sucking terrible voice.
I couldn't have found a good rhytm guitarist either and so a doctor guy came out and said let me do it,his ear was not so good however so sometimes his rythm tempo was going faster or sometimes slower well ı mean he was missing the tempo, metronom device didn't work either and ı had to obey his tempo because ı had no choice ı's going faster when his sound is faster and ı was going slower when he is slower correspondingly in other words ı was trying to match his tempo.
So this doctor guy, my voice and the amateurish musical equipment screwed that demo recording tape up.
They were playing way more different my compositions than how ı imagined to be played with their original states.
In ot her words they couldn't have played my songs even properly as ı wanted or imagined.
Who knows perhaps ı would have a chance too if ı was born in California for instance.
But if you ask me ı'd rather to bea drummer in a 80's early British band which is not very well known, ametur and unpopular.
Also wish Metallica was not a band that much popular, ı think that would be better.
İf you are a big pro band that makes you and force you to be more integrated with the fascist system because wheather or not you want you have to deal with 'em after all.
İt also force you not to tell everything that you wanna sometimes you can't explain your thoughts and furthermore you can't even manifest yourself.
You have to be political because if you dare to go against a specific politial movement or group your album sales might decrease for instance.
I would like to be in a band such as Witchfinder General or Witchfynde in 80's and that would make me so very happy,
ı like to be considered as an avarage drummer and musician, not very good and not very band because in a band like that you don't need to be so pro in terms of your musical skills anyways, that's not necessary.
